Montgomery Night secured a personal victory at the Surge 105 Battle of the Bands, but could they clinch the win at Monte's Showbar Grill?
The band received a phone call from local alternative rock music radio station Surge 105 less than 2 weeks before the show, and they answered with style! Ready to debut their first 30-minute set on a stage the band had become comfortable with. However, many uncertainties hung in the air that night! For starters, each band drew straws for the order of the evening.
First was Head of State with their pure hard rock sound.
Second, Lambs Become Lions presented their well-crafted alternative rock music.
Third, Montgomery Night took the stage with many local fans in the audience.
Fourth were competitors from New Brunsiwck aka Area 506, CandyHeart.
As the night unfolded, Montgomery Night poured their heart and soul into each note, leaving an indelible mark on the audience. Debuting two new songs including a heartfelt ballad called "Tomorrow," this triggered a request from the audience comparing Reagan's vocals to Amy Lee of Evanescence. Without rehearsing, "My Immortal" was sung to the awe of the crowd and the rest of the band as this was unrehearsed!
Montgomery Night took home the crowd's win that night, but CandyHeart took home the judges' decision as they advanced to the finals where they faced off against North of Nowhere, Buckingham Drive, and eventual champions S.H.A.R.K.
Enjoy this teaser of Montgomery Night's song 'Trigger' and expect the band's first singles to be released before winter 2025!
Thank you to everyone involved in The Rising Surge at Monte's Showbar Grill it was a blast, and hope to see this event become a staple in the Halifax Music Scene!
