Montgomery Night Rocks Waverley Village Green Music Festival!

What a day it was at the Waverley Village Green Music Festival! Montgomery Night had the opportunity to play for so many friendly faces on July 20, 2024. The weather was hot, but the music was even hotter!

We were nervous and excited to share some new songs with everyone. The festival was mainly geared towards original artists and highlighting local songwriters and bands. For our only cover of the set, our guitarists Nick and Evan tried their hands at singing an Alexisonfire deep cut, The Northern. Our new bass player Yuri fit right in during his debut performance with the band, ripping up some new bass lines and adding a whole new flavour to our sound.

The best part? Seeing about 200 smiling faces in the crowd as we shared the day with some wonderful Nova Scotia musicians. Dee Dee Austin, Jamie Junger & The Jungernauts, and Campbell and Johnston were all in attendance day one of the festival. Day two was another stacked day for local music with Maurice Aucoin, Callehan, Jim Henman, and the Morgan Toney Trio taking the stage.

While playing our song "Tomorrow", which was written as a tribute to the 5 friends Reagan lost to suicide in 2020, she got emotional and ended up losing her words. The overwhelming response to the song more than made up for it though, as many members of the community came afterwards to encourage her to keep singing the song and to keep talking about suicide and the importance of Mental Health. One community member mentioned that they had recently lost their child, and that the song was very touching to them.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone for sticking with us through the heat, and making us feel so loved! We're grateful to have been part of the festival. It was a special day for us, and we hope it was for you too. Thanks to the Waverley Community Association for putting on such a great event!
