Montgomery Night takes the stage at Monte's Showbar,

We're stoked to reflect on our recent show at Monte's Showbar Grill! We shared the stage with some incredible talent, including Stonebrother, the hard-rocking winners of the 2023 Surge Battle of the Bands. We were also thrilled to have Halifax indie rock staple The Summer Rabbit join us, bringing their fun indie rock sound to the mix.

A standout moment of our set was with the debut of our take on the classic tune, House of the Rising Sun. We decided to shake things up by switching it up into a fast polka, creating an unexpected twist. There were changing tempos, a continual build, and Evan belting his soul out until we all fell apart in a big rock-style finish - complete with an epic piano roll. To top it all off, Reagan let out a HUGE laugh that perfectly captured the chaotic joy and energy of the moment.

The night was made even better by our fans, seeing them sing and dance along to our songs Trigger and Gravity. “There’s no better feeling than people singing the words to your songs,” said Reagan, while reflecting on the experience.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our friends who showed up and supported us at the show. It truly means the world to us, and we appreciate you being part of this journey together. Your energy and enthusiasm inspire us to keep creating and performing. We’re grateful to have such an amazing community around us, and we can’t wait to share more unforgettable moments with all of you in the future!

Stay tuned for more shows, new songs, and plenty more gut busting laughs along the way.

- Montgomery Night

What a day it was at the Waverley Village Green Music Festival! Montgomery Night had the opportunity to play for so many friendly faces on July 20, 2024. The weather was hot, but the music was even hotter!

We were nervous and excited to share some new songs with everyone. The festival was mainly geared towards original artists and highlighting local songwriters and bands. For our only cover of the set, our guitarists Nick and Evan tried their hands at singing an Alexisonfire deep cut, The Northern. Our new bass player Yuri fit right in during his debut performance with the band, ripping up some new bass lines and adding a whole new flavour to our sound.

The best part? Seeing about 200 smiling faces in the crowd as we shared the day with some wonderful Nova Scotia musicians. Dee Dee Austin, Jamie Junger & The Jungernauts, and Campbell and Johnston were all in attendance day one of the festival. Day two was another stacked day for local music with Maurice Aucoin, Callehan, Jim Henman, and the Morgan Toney Trio taking the stage.

While playing our song "Tomorrow", which was written as a tribute to the 5 friends Reagan lost to suicide in 2020, she got emotional and ended up losing her words. The overwhelming response to the song more than made up for it though, as many members of the community came afterwards to encourage her to keep singing the song and to keep talking about suicide and the importance of Mental Health. One community member mentioned that they had recently lost their child, and that the song was very touching to them.

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone for sticking with us through the heat, and making us feel so loved! We're grateful to have been part of the festival. It was a special day for us, and we hope it was for you too. Thanks to the Waverley Community Association for putting on such a great event!

Montgomery Night secured a personal victory at the Surge 105 Battle of the Bands, but could they clinch the win at Monte's Showbar Grill?

The band received a phone call from local alternative rock music radio station Surge 105 less than 2 weeks before the show, and they answered with style! Ready to debut their first 30-minute set on a stage the band had become comfortable with. However, many uncertainties hung in the air that night! For starters, each band drew straws for the order of the evening.

First was Head of State with their pure hard rock sound.

Second, Lambs Become Lions presented their well-crafted alternative rock music.

Third, Montgomery Night took the stage with many local fans in the audience.

Fourth were competitors from New Brunsiwck aka Area 506, CandyHeart.

As the night unfolded, Montgomery Night poured their heart and soul into each note, leaving an indelible mark on the audience. Debuting two new songs including a heartfelt ballad called "Tomorrow," this triggered a request from the audience comparing Reagan's vocals to Amy Lee of Evanescence. Without rehearsing, "My Immortal" was sung to the awe of the crowd and the rest of the band as this was unrehearsed!

Montgomery Night took home the crowd's win that night, but CandyHeart took home the judges' decision as they advanced to the finals where they faced off against North of Nowhere, Buckingham Drive, and eventual champions S.H.A.R.K.

Enjoy this teaser of Montgomery Night's song 'Trigger' and expect the band's first singles to be released before winter 2025!

Thank you to everyone involved in The Rising Surge at Monte's Showbar Grill it was a blast, and hope to see this event become a staple in the Halifax Music Scene!
